Dual Camera Strap For Wedding Videographers

Being quick on a wedding day is key to making sure you never miss a shot on and how you hold your cameras can be the difference between you getting a shot and missing it. I've tried different options when it comes to straps but for me its been a combination of the Coiro Dual Strap and a Tilta Half Cage that have created a system that feels and looks good. Back in 2022 I was at a wedding and I saw the photographer with a very similar set up to me and it made me think "yeah that doesn't look great". After that moment I questioned what I could use for weddings to transport cameras that didn't make me look like a dad at his kids soccer game. Thats essentially how I felt wearing a camera strap at a wedding and it just screamed amateur to me.

Whether we like to admit it or not how you present yourself at a wedding matters and I learned that the hard way twice when I shot 2 weddings with luxury photographers. The first wedding I went to I was second shooting for a Toronto based wedding videgrapher Aaron Daniel Films and I noticed how he dressed and carried himself. He wore black but he wore brand names that matched the clientele he was after. The second wedding I shot that year I got to shoot alongside Joel and Justyna. I made a comment about her shoes because they looked super stylish but not as comfortable as a sketcher or running shoe. I remember them saying something about dressing as one of the guest at a wedding which stuck with me because no guest at a wedding woul be wearing a running shoe or jeans. They considered themselves as one of the guest at a wedding and because of this they are able to blend in more and capture more intimate moments without being intrusive.

My outfit for the last year has been a black polo and black khaki pants along with the Coiro Dual Strap. Although there is nothing wrong with that as wearing all black makes your life easy on a wedding day, not having to guess what you're going to wear it got me thinking about how people feel when thy see me? They say dont judge a book by its cover but naturally humans will make assumptions based on what they see when they first meet you. My advice is to put some thought into how you carry yourself on a wedding day as that will be my goal going into 2025. The Coiro Dual Strap has become an essential tool that makes me look more professional and ultimately helps me do my job more efficiently and I cant imagine using anything else at this point.
