Billings Estate Museum Wedding
I met Ayesha and Philippe on a whim when I was contacted to film there wedding 2 weeks before the date. The couple hadn’t originally planned to have a wedding film but changed there mind leading up to the wedding. @photosbyemmah had never met me but recommended me just from seeing my work. My only regret with this wedding is that I was not there for the whole day.
They had booked me for 5hrs just to capture the ceremony and reception but the amount of emotion and genuine love between the families made me curious about the other moments in the day that I missed. Ayesha and Philippe have built a long lasting relationship over the years. As a result the family members involved had looked forward to this day for a long time. Ayesha being the first grand daughter of 6 brothers and sisters the mother and grandmother had a touching speech that had everybody shook hence why I had to include her speech in this short film.
Regardless I think I surprised everybody with this video, I didn’t have a whole lot to work with but I decided to focus on the moments that mattered or evoke the most emotion and in the end this is what was created and everybody seemed to be very happy with it. Discovering Ottawa for the first time really this was also my first visit to this venue. The day was actually scheduled to have severe thunderstorms but it end up being a bright sunny day. The venue itself is a small area but intimate and scenic. For anybody considering this venue for there wedding I would recommend it if you are having a wedding with 50-100 guest. At this wedding they got married under a tree (where squirrels may or may not drop acorns on you) and the reception was off to the left. Im assuming if the day hadn’t called for rain the reception area wouldn’t have the tent set up but regardless it was still very nice and intimate.
