Planning the perfect get ready is essential to have a smooth beginning to your wedding day. A lot of brides look at the get ready as just a time where they get their hair and make-up done. Although those two things are super important it can also be a chill peaceful time for you before the nerves and day begin to unfold.
Planning The Perfect Get Ready
Planning the perfect get ready is essential to having a smooth start to your wedding day. A lot of brides look at the get ready as just a time where they get their hair and make-up done. Although those two things are super important it can also be a chill peaceful time for you before the nerves and day begin to unfold. Where your get-ready takes place can also play into the mood of your day and add to your photos and video. When it comes to hair and makeup to have a smooth start to you your day I would advise getting your hair done first followed by your makeup. Another point to add to this topic is to make sure that you are the first person to get your hair done.
The reason I say this is because if you are last to get your hair and makeup done it can lead to the day running behind (worst case scenario a bridesmaid can do their own make-up if time is tight). My second tip is to allow yourself some free time before your videographer and photographer show up to have some peace and time with the bridal party. Once those two vendors show up they are essential with you the whole day. Another vendor that is time-sensitive is your limo driver. From years of filming weddings, many brides have told me that they would suggest ditching the limo. I agree with this simply because most drivers are on a crunch for time and you don’t need that added stress and honestly you don’t really get to enjoy the limo as much as you think you would.
A nice alternative is a party bus or even a classic car of sorts that you can use throughout the day. If you are a bride that is having an outdoor wedding then I highly recommend getting your hair and make-up done by a window with natural lighting. This ensures that your hair and make-up are set accurately to an environment that you will be present in throughout the day. Where you get ready will really add to your wedding photos and video. If you can’t get ready at your home then I would highly recommend getting an Airbnb that goes with the vibe of your wedding day.
Hotels are nice, but the lighting is usually hit or miss as a lot of hotels have mixed lighting setups which can be a nightmare for your photographer or videographer when trying to light you properly. A nice Airbnb can really add to your wedding photos and create more of a home-like feel that you may not get in a hotel room. An Airbnb will also give your bridal party more space to get ready and in some scenarios, an Airbnb may help you save money on your wedding day.
